Kinetics - Beauthy in Motion

My Name is Svetlana Kopytova. It all started long before I made the decision to become a nail technician. I had loved drawing, designing, and sculpting since I was a child. When I got older, they became my hobbies. After graduating from university in Russia, I did not rush to find a job there. Instead I decided to see if I could make it in another country. A thirst for new adventures, new achievements, and knowledge brought me to London. After I learned English and changed jobs a few times, I realized that something was not right. I had the feeling that no job I worked at was good enough for me. I wanted to do something that interested me and involved creativity, so I started to look for the opportunity to do so.

I happened to be invited to a beauty exhibition by a friend, and that was my first introduction the nail world. When I saw a professional artist doing a set of lovely nails with a 3D design on top, I fell in love with his work. I said to myself, “I can do that.” Artistry had always been a part of my life. Nail artistry was something new and exciting to me, and I decided to try my hand at it.

In June 2004, I was qualified as professional nail technician, and that’s how my nail career began. I cannot say that studying was very easy for me. I had to practice a lot to master the techniques. There were moments when I thought I would never be good at nails, but hard work, patience, and a love for study helped me to achieve success.

I first encountered Kinetics about three years into my career. I was attracted by this fast-growing company, its high quality products, and friendly and supportive team. In 2007, I became a Kinetics Instructor. Now, looking back, I have to say I made the right decision. I love my job. It involves lots of variety and creativity and I really enjoy working with people and sharing my experience and knowledge with them.

One of my favourite things to do is enter nail competitions. I have entered many national and international competitions in London, Manchester, and Edinburgh. Each competition means assessing my expertise, finding out things I didn’t know before, sharing experience with other nail technicians, feeling good about what I’m doing, and strengthening my desire to keep moving forward.
