My name is Catherine Taylor, and I have been doing nails since 1999. I started training when I was still at school, and straight away I fell in love with all things nails! I worked from home for the first year, doing family and friends’ nails and building up my clientele. I then applied for a job in my local nail salon. My clientele grew, and I gained so much more experience. After being there for three years, I decided it was time to go to the next level and bought a lease on a shop. It took me two months to transform it into a beautiful salon. I named it Scratch!

After three years, I decided to have a break. It was time to take a step back and start a family while I was still young, so I sold my salon. While at home with my two young children, I concentrated on training and building up my knowledge. This was the best thing I could have done, as there were so many new products out on the market, and I wanted to stay up to date.

In 2007, I decided it was time to start up again and bought another salon. It is now an established business, and I have a great team working there. We are all still continuously training and entering competitions. I wanted to share all the knowledge I had gained over my many years of experience, and so in January 2009, I took an instructor training course with Kinetics Professional Nail Systems at the Margarita Belska Nail School. This is the next step in my career and has made our salon even better able to serve our clients. I adore passing this passion of mine on to others, so teaching is especially fun for me. The students are always coming up with something new and creative!
