My name is Kristina Plairyte. I come from Lithuania. I took my first steps toward becoming a nail technician in my native country in 2001. I had dreamt of working in the beauty industry since childhood, and my dream has come true because I’ve worked hard and done my best throughout. I have also finished the studies of a makeup artist.
After my first customer, I realised that this was the field I had to be in. This is not just a job for me; it is also a hobby. When I first came to England, I adapted to the environment quickly, and some of the first things I investigated were companies and courses related to my profession.
I started competing at nail competitions in 2005 and have taken several prizes in the years since then. My favourite technique in these competitions and in my salon work is gel nail extensions.
When I was looking for another way to progress my career in 2008, I started attending Kinetics courses to become more qualified as a technician and to learn to be an Instructor. I finished the Kinetics Instructor Course and am now a teacher. I love helping others enter the world of nails. It gives me great pleasure to be able to contribute to my student’s discoveries of their own talent and skills in the profession.
I have a lot of plans for the future. I think that there are many challenges for me still to come, and this gives me more passion for this job. The credo of my life is improvement. The most important things to me in my profession are doing a quality job for my clients and giving them an emotional lift that lasts through their whole day. I love finishing each day knowing that I have done just that, and that I get to do it again tomorrow.
